    to try and find and punish or harrass people with unpopular opinions, usually because they are said to be dangerous to others.
    He was the victim of a witch-hunt at work and was fired because of his radical ideas for developing the company
  2. skeleton in the cupboardsomething that might bring shame or embarrassment to a family or person if other people know about it
    She has a skeleton in the cupboard, not too long ago, she pregnant before marriage

  4. a ghost townplace that has been abandoned and is no longer inhabited.

    According to legend, she was spirited away by witches in the middle of the night
  6. chill the blood (also, make the blood run cold)if something chills your blood it scares you

  7. out for one’s blood / after one’s bloodto be out for someone’s blood is to be determined to get revenge (used humorously)

    to do or say something very unpleasant or very unkind to someone
    He really put the knife in when he told me that nobody at work liked me

    to look daggers at someone, is to look at them with hatred or anger
    My boyfriend's ex-girlfriend looked daggers at me
  10. stab in the backto stab someone in the back is to betray them
    I gave him a job, a shelter, but he stabbed me in the back by telling lies about me to everyone

Using Idioms Talking About Money

Hello everybody !
I would like to give you some idioms talk about money, you can use this idiom every time you need. I hope it’s can help you to improve your English ability. Enjoy it!



Bread and Butter
The idiom bread and butter refers to one’s source of income. A person makes bread and butter with his or her jobs, businesses or other sources of earnings.
Vanessa  does some freelance as a secretary in the  office, but singing in the cafe  is her bread and butter.
Break the Bank
An idiom that can mean to use up all of one’s money is break the bank. This idiom can also mean to win all the money at a gambling table.
My father  broke the bank at the casino and walked away with a lot of money.

Buy off
 give money to someone to stop them from doing their duty
They tried to buy off the politician but he refused to go along with their plan.

Calculated risk
 an action that may fail but has a good chance to succeed
They took a calculated risk when they introduced the new Android onto the market.

Cash in your chip
exchange or sell something to get some money
She decided to cash in her chips to get some money to go back to school.



Give someone the green light
give permission to go ahead with a project
Our boss gave us the green light to begin work on the new sales promotion.

Hard sell
sell something by being very aggressive
The  salesman gave us a hard sell so we decided to go to another  shop.

Hard up
not have much money
 Lisa is hard up for money  now and always wants to borrow some of my things.

Hit the jackpot
make a lot of money suddenly
We hit the jackpot at the casino and came home with a lot of money.

Lose your shirt
lose all or most of your money
My boss  lost his shirt in a business furniture and now he has no money.

Hello guys! Today I want to share about idioms to expressing anger. Do you ever get mad to someone over something? You should use idioms to expressing your anger! Here's the list of common idioms to expressing anger. Check it out!

    extremely angry. So angry that you are almost jumping / hopping around with rage
    My father was hopping mad when he found out that I fought with my classmate
  9. go ballistic
    to become violently and uncontrollably angry
    My wife went ballistic when she saw this month’s bill
  10. blow your top (also, blow up, blow a gasket, and blow a fuse)
    to suddenly lose your temper (get very angry)
    Dad will blow his top when he sees the broken car

Actually in daily life many idioms that we used  when we talking each other. But, maybe we’re not realized  that. So, in this post I would like to post about  using idioms in daily life. I hope you can enjoy it.

To not be able to really know about someone or something by simply looking at them
Maybe when we saw him at the first time we will say he  is a bad boy, but actually not. He is good person, it means you can’t judge a book by its cover.

The top dog
the most important and powerful person in a group.
She is the top dog in the company and she made sure she got what she wanted.

Go ahead
To begin to do something
Let’s go ahead and start now. I can’t wait any longer.

On the same wavelength
Have the same thoughts  and opinions.
I think I’m agree with you Elizabeth. We’re are on the same wavelength.

Provided that, on  conditional that.

Hit the books
It simply means “to study,” and is a way of telling your friends that you’re going to study.
I’m sorry we can’t hang out for today, because I have mid-term test tomorrow. I have to hit the books tonight.

Idioms in Shutter Island movie

Hello everyone, today we would like to talk about Idioms in Shutter Island movie..
first, I would like to give you a summary about this movie.

From Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese, "Shutter Island" is the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the cost of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island's fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.

This is the idioms that I got from that movie

1.       Can’t stomach
unable to tolerate someone or something; disliking someone or something extremely. (Also with cannot.)
Yeah, I'm fine. I just...uh...I just can't...can't stomach the water.

2.       Square with
to make certain that something is approved by a particular person.
Doesn't exactly square with Teddy Daniels, the man, the legend, I'll give you that.

3.       Rob blind
to steal freely from someone.
Government employees will rob you blind.

4.       Paper pusher
 a bureaucrat; a clerk in the military services; any office worker.
Not much of a stretch doc, for all you know we were both paper pushers over there.

5.       Blow the lid of
to expose something to public view.
If you'd gotten into the main land you could have blown the lid off this place.

6.       Safe and sound
Unharmed and whole or healthy.
